per client IF client doesn’t follow their pre-care instructions. I cannot move forward on
procedure day. The deposit will NOT be refunded.

As a necessary precaution, we require ALL of our Aquarelle Lip clients who are prone

and must continue to take it until you are done healing. Examples of antiviral medications:
Acyclovir, Zovirax, Famvir or Valtrex. absolutely NO exceptions to this rule! This rule holds
true for each and every time you have any lip tattoo.

You will either need to contact your physician in order to obtain your prescription strength
anti-viral medication or may get it over the counter. You must inform them of your your decision
to have permanent cosmetics applied to your lips and they will need to send prescription
in for you to pick up at your pharmacy.

All clients will have moderate swelling and tightness after the procedure.

Day 2
All signs of swelling will subside
Lips will feel a little tender and tight.
Lips will be dry.

Day 3
Shedding begins.
Lips will start to lighten in color.

The true color will surface by the second to third week.

If there are any freckles on the lips, they may appear darker during the healing process, but will fade back to normal once healing is complete.

For those who have a thin. white border around their lips, it may appear darker (like lip liner), but will fade and can be corrected during the second session.

Failure to follow Pre-Care instructions may affect the outcome of your final results.

Immediately following the procedure, lips may feel dry, chapped, tight and
tender to the touch.

If you’ve never had micropigmentation before, there are a lot of unknowns. One of the
most common questions asked is what to expect during the healing process.
Everyone’s healing process will vary. A general breakdown of what to expect day by
day will be provided below.

You should expect to lose approximately 50% of the initial color during the healing
process. In approximately 3 days, your lips will appear lighter. After about 2 weeks, the
color will gradually surface. They will appear softer once you have completely healed.
The mouth is a breeding ground for bacteria, so it is extremely important to keep the
area clean.

Tips for aftercare

Lips will tend to be very dry. Keep them moist with Aquaphor or pure shea butter. Some peeling may occur. DO NOT PEEL OFF! Do not wipe your lips with a napkin while eating blot instead. Cut your food into small pieces to eat.  Drink through a straw. Lips have a tendency to fade up to 60% after the first procedure.

The mouth is breeding ground for bacteria, which means there is high risk of infection
when getting the lip blush procedure done. Step one for lip tattoo care is to keep them
dry for a minimum of 4-5 days after the procedure.

Make sure to rinse your mouth with antiseptic mouthwash until you are done healing,
which you may buy local drugstore. Do this at least 4 times a day, including right after
you eat and drink. Avoid eating and drinking for at least 5 hours after your appointment
and do not drink tap water.

The day after the lip blush appointment, your lips
will feel inflamed and you may feel like peeling your lip skin. Please
make sure do this as it will pull out the ink and negatively affect your retention. To
lessen any scabbing, buy lip ointments that contain vitamin A and D

Lip blushing (semi-permanent makeup) procedures are affected by the “canvas” (your
skin) that they are performed on. Lifestyle, medications, smoking, metabolism, facial surgery and
other procedures, and age of the skin all contribute to fading and outcome.
Every individual’s skin is different; therefore, the initial application is always applied
conservatively. The final color can be adjusted during a second session appointment.
The lip blushing procedure is not complete after the first initial session. A second
session appointment is required approximately 6- 12 weeks after your first initial
application to ensure longevity and ensure the best results.

Though rare, infection is possible if aftercare is not handled correctly and with caution.
If you see signs of infection such as persistent increased redness or swelling, fever,
drainage, or oozing, please contact your doctor immediately.
Your lips will be swollen for the first 24 hours and will take approximately 5 days to
heal. During this time, your lips will shed, feel dry, and look patchy.
The color will fade about 40% after the first few days.

Who Should Avoid Lip Blushing

  • If you have allergies to alcohol or numbing agents.

  • Children under the age of 18.

  • If you are pregnant. (If the client is breastfeeding, she must wait at least 45 days from the last time she breast feeds due to hormones in her body)

  • If you have a transmittable blood disease such as HIV or Hepatitis. Again, artists penetrate the skin so it is our policy not to work with these conditions.
